Synopsis

Buku ini memuat berbagai hal tentang koleksi sampel, analisis fitokimia, ekstraksi, isolasi senyawa dan uji aktivitas senyawa hasil isolasi. Buku ini diharapkan mampu membantu pembaca dalam pemahaman senyawa metabolis sekunder tumbuhan, terutama teknik isolasi. Apalagi kita ketahui bahwa semakin bertambahnya penduduk maka tekanan ini menyebabkan perambahan hutan dan tumbuhan semakin tidak terkendali, sehingga mengakibatkan terjadinya kepunahan berbagai spesies tumbuhan yang tidak dapat diperbaharui, sementara potensi tumbuhan tersebut belum pernah diteliti dan dikaji.

Author Biographies

Nurdin Saidi, Kimia, Universitas Syiah Kuala

He is a lecturer on organic chemistry at Chemistry department, faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh Indonesia. He finished his undergraduate in chemistry at Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh in 1989. After that, He continued his graduate degree in natural product chemistry at Padjajaran University, Bandung in 1998. He completely finished his doctoral program at Faculty of Science, Chemistry department, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2007. His research field concerned on natural product chemistry.

I was born in Lubukpakam, Deli Serdang District, North Sumatera Province on September 27, 1972. Graduated from Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees at Chemistry Department Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Sumatera Utara Unsyiah successively in 1996, 1999 and 2015. In 1999 until now, was appointed as a lecturer at MIPA Faculty of Syiah Kuala University. I teach on the field basic chemistry, organic chemistry, stereochemistry, bioessay technique, metabolite secondary of analysis, spectroscopy analysis and organic chemistry synthesis. I interest on research about natural product chemistry. This study aims to determine secondary metabolite compounds from various plants such as nutmeg, casia alata, plumeria alba, nerium oleander and cocoa and others by isolation and purification methods and determination using gravity chromatography, thin layer chromatography, preparative chromatography and recrystallization. The obtained isolates were determined by FT-IT spectroscopy, UV, H-NMR, C-NMR, DEPT, HMQC, HMBC, COSY and MS. Furthermore each of the extracts and secondary metabolites obtained determined the activity against microbes, the determination of sitotoxic, antioxidants and anticancer.

My name is Murniana. I was born in Medan, on May 12, 1960. Graduated undergraduate degree in Chemistry Department Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta. Completed master's degree (S2) at Chemistry Department Faculty of Mathematics Natural Science Institute of Technology Bandung, majoring in Organic Chemistry . The research that is studied is the Study of Bioaktifitas of Secondary Metabolite Compounds from Tropical Indonesian plants,specially the Region of Aceh. Since February 1990 until now,  I was appointed as Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Syiah Kuala University.

Mustanir

Mustanir was born in Aceh Besar - Indonesia. He studied in Surabaya at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology where he successfully completed his degrees a B.A. in Chemist. As a scholar he continued for further degree in graduate school at Kyushu University Japan pursuing Master in Organic Chemistry which was achieved in 1997. His Doctor Dissertation was successfully defended in 2000 entitled: “Thermodynamic Stabilities of Ion-molecules Adducts based on Gas Phase Ion Equilibria” under supervisions of Prof. Masaaki Mishima and Prof. Yuho Tsuno. Mr. Mustanir as Professor in Organic Chemistry at present, teaching general chemistry, organic chemistry, natural products, and mechanism reaction organic chemistry in both undergraduate and graduate levels at the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Sciences, Syiah Kuala University, Indonesia. He has recently also work at the Accreditation Council of Higher Education (BAN-PT) Indonesia. He is a contributor to many international journals with organic chemistry and natural products in his articles.
